The exhibition, conceptualised and curated by art-management.com and :phunk studio, held its 2nd & 3rd showcase of 100 artworks from 100 artists of all ages hailing from Singapore, Hong Kong, Barcelona, China, New York, Bali and Japan as well as across multi-disciplinary practices including illustration, digital media and photography.

All 100 A4 portraits all framed and priced at a very affordable S$199.00 were previously available at TCC – The Connoisseur Concerto. The exhibition is a unique chance to view work from such a diverse range of artists and creative disciplines, with 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit Transmission: Project.

100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Songs (2013)

The brief was to chose a personal favourite song and interpret it visually. So this honour goes to the KORG MS-20. Because without this machine, we won’t be able to hear such brilliant tunes from these electronic bands to allow us to define the song(s) of our lives.

100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Dreams (2012)

The brief was to express all those dream(s) that we had and have, achieved, shelved or in pursuit and interpret it visually. I stumbled across the Coldplay X&Y Album Art generator, written in JavaScript by Brendan Houle. It produces images based on the album artwork of Coldplay’s “X&Y” album, designed by TappinGofton. The liner notes provide a chart of the code which is used to write “X&Y” on the album cover. The generator itself translates the text input from the user to images as specified by here.

This was an interesting visual device to transcribe words differently. The coloured blocks now read as:
“I worked my ass off for 15 years now. Got reasonably paid, getting hitched and hopefully pay off the mortgage for my flat!”
