Developed by the aerospace industry, Lunarlite foam was adapted by Nike for running.
The process took more than four years, the Lunarlite foam got its start when Nike designer
Kevin Hoffer wanted to create a cushioning system as revolutionary as Bill Bowerman’s
original Waffle sole. This paradigm-shifting technology is behind the new Nike Lunar Trainer+
Men’s Running Shoe, an excellent lightweight, responsive sneaker with superior cushioning.

Nike needed an edgier and timeless typeface to compliment their new campaign,
hence Dutch designer Wim Crouwel’s Gridnk was chosen for his devotion to grids
and systems in his work. This was in parallel with the design characteristics
and technology in this series of trainers introduced by Nike.
