Optima is a new community-based marketplace set to transform the way people run their business and follow their passion. Whatever the challenge, they are here to help businesses on the bigger things. Offering products and services that help with important but crucial operational tasks — rated, reviewed and recommended by the business community. We worked closely with the founding partners to define the brand’s proposition and to develop a new visual identity that positions the business as a groundbreaking brand in the world of startups and entrepreneurships.
We began by defining an underlying brand concept: ‘On board with you’. The tagline encapsulates the brand promise of helping businesses thrive by taking care of all their crucial and operational processes. This integrates wholly into their brand values, personality, business objectives and brand story. The wordmark identity is redrawn with geometric san serif qualities using FF Circular (Lineto Type Foundry), and is set in lowercase to avoid the appearance of austerity. The lowercase ‘o’ is intentionally made hollow which allows for a dynamic visual vocabulary—thus creating two purposes: acting as a viewfinder which we can incorporate a series of assigned colour palettes or imagery to represent the various industries we are communicating to.
