More and more clubs are shutting down and sadly there is nowhere near as much money invested into music than there was say in the 90s. I think nowadays, the majority of clubs are more bothered about a social media presence than beautiful flyers or branding. With everyone having smartphones and instant notifications the art of the flyer has died.

A splendid book project celebrating and documenting the best graphic design in UK clubs and the evolution of club graphics, conceived by Rick Banks of Face37. The book will feature logos, posters, photography, tickets, menus, cover art, signage, lanyards, fonts and, yes, flyers from the last 35 years. It will feature some of the best designers and studios in the world including: Peter Saville, Ben Kelly, 8vo, Spin, The Designers Republic, Mark Farrow, Jon Jeffrey (Bibliothèque), Central Station Art, Anthony Burrill, INTRO (Mat Cook), Trevor Johnson, Pentagram (Angus Hyland), Julian Morey, Tom Hingston, Trevor Jackson and many more.
