Standard Chartered – Run for a Reason
The Standard Chartered Bank Marathons – nine races spanning four continents that give thousands of
ordinary people reason to feel extraordinary. These marathons characterise the values and attitude
that Standard Chartered believes in, and lives by everyday – a “can-do” attitude, a priority on strength
of trust, willpower, stamina, and a determination to go the distance.
The Dubai Marathon is a sponsored event by Standard Chartered Bank held every year in January,
with this year’s theme “Run For A Reason” – rallying people to share online their reasons for running.
The objective of this campaign is to leverage on existing social media platforms to increase the awareness
of the marathon, instead of utilizing traditional media. This facilitates emotional engagement with the
audience with user-generated videos and snapshots from the public with senior management and staff from SCB.
At the same time, creating an active base of audience and maintaining conversations? to achieve brand affinity.
